Abstract Sculptures

DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
Students create small-scale paper sculptures dealing with a particular mood feeling or experience. After determining where on the school grounds would best suit the sculpture digital photos are taken of both the site and sculpture. A composite image is then created with the appropriate scale and lighting.

Courage DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
Students explore various collage techniques to merge imagery in order to illustrate a sense of courage related to a particular person or event

Communication/Multimedia Device DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
These renderings represent various solutions to a project dealing with the design an creation of a device that merges interactive multimedia and communication technologies.Students determine what types of media are to be merged along with what types of communication there device can provide, then design the unit specifying how exactly the functions operate as well as what materials the device is comprised of. After determining the limitations of currently available similar devices, students are encouraged to push the boundaries in the areas of Aesthetics, ergonomics, function, durability and portability.


Currency Design DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
After an exhaustive preparatory phase students develop multiple graphical assets around the design and creation of a currency for a imaginary place or a place that has no currency associated with it.

MBTA Pass DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
Students research the history of the MBTA as well as its current services and service areas. Students then create a minimum of three passes that either follow a particular theme, or three passes that retain their individual designs. General discussion discloses a need for monthly variation of the pass graphics rather than the existing homogenized standard graphic that is used every month.

Deep Space DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
Students are encouraged to use their technical and conceptual skill in order to create an image illustrating deep space.

Glass Projects DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
Students explore the design and creation of both abstracted and realistic objects made of glass.

Independent Projects DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
These projects are independent projects usually dealing with the students taking a particular concept and or technique to a more in depth level.

My Cube DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
These renderings represent outcomes from the second half of a project dealing with the design and creation of a custom game cube. Tactile properties as well as personalization are stressed wile developing various modeling techniques.

Reflection Study DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
This project involves the superimposition of conceptual collage as reflection of future events and or aspirations on to digital photos.

Robot Survey DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
This project deals with the examination of how robots have been represented and used in entertainment as well as industry. Students then create a robot of their own determining in specific detail its function and material properties.

Silhouette DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
Students explore the creation of digital artwork dealing with the silhouette, both from a conceptual as well as practical levels.

Space Vehicle Design DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
After surveying the many ways space vehicles have been designed for both entertainment and more practical applications, the students the design a vehicle of their own paying specific attention to it’s various functions, method of propulsion and material properties.

Universal Signs DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
Students develop signage using conventional and non-conventional graphics, in order to convey a message.

World Design DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
These renderings represent the first stage of a project centered around the student’s creation of a world of their own. Taking into consideration many factors including size, environment and inhabitants.
